FREE CONCERT: Richmond Based Jazz Band Bop Nation featuring Kip Williams. This Saturday night at 8p.m. at Byrd Park's Dogwood Dell. It's part of the City of Richmond's 55th Festival of the Arts Summer Series which continues through August.

Fireworks Featured at Richmond's Dogwood Dell July 4 2011 ...
Highlighting the the city’s Fourth of July Celebration at the Dell is music and family fun. This year, beginning at 4 p.m., it will feature local hip hop group Kids in Da Biz, jazz by Sharon North, a concert on the Carillon bells, and rousing patriotic music by the Richmond Concert Band concluding with a fireworks extravaganza.
But be alert there are traffic advisories and detours in effect on Monday July 4th.
Due to the increased amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the following traffic pattern changes and detours will be in effect:
The Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic at Cary Street beginning at 7 p.m., Westover Hills Boulevard will be closed at Forest Hill Avenue to northbound traffic beginning at 7 p.m. The detour is west on Forest Hill Avenue to the Powhite Parkway or east on Forest Hill Avenue to the Lee Bridge, Douglasdale Road between McCloy Street and Blanton Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The roadway will be used for Shuttle Buses only.Shuttle Service is provided from City Stadium at McCloy and Douglasdale. Everyone is STRONGLY encouraged to use the shuttles both before and after the fireworks display.
After the fireworks, all northbound traffic on the Boulevard will be detoured eastbound onto Interstate 195. If you are traveling east on Interstate 195 there is a .70-cent toll. The Boulevard northbound will reopen 30 minutes after the fireworks have ended.
NO parking will be allowed on grassy area, medians, bridges or roadways. There will also be several areas where “No Parking” signs will be posted. Parking violations will be strictly enforced and vehicles will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
