Weiner is guilty of stupidity

Weiner says all of his shenanigans took place on Twitter and Facebook, and he's never met any of his Internet ladies. He says it was very easy, very tempting. Blame it on social networks.

I've said it from the start: Twitter and Facebook are trouble waiting to happen. I don't go near them. I enjoy writing, sure, but I have a little newspaper column to get that out of my system.

I hear it from people all the time, "You really need to get on Twitter and Facebook!"

No, I don't. My whole life is Facebook without my posting photos I hate and catching up with old friends. I moved to Texas to get away from those people. I don't need to see a picture of their new dog.

If someone is looking for me, I'm the simplest person to find. Just Google "Ken Hoffman" and I'm one of the first Ken Hoffmans to show up. I'm moving up the chart like Britney Spears' new single. My goal is to pass Ken Hoffman, the Realtor in Portland, Ore.

Once in a while, I'll Google myself to see how I'm doing. There's one thing on there that drives me crazy. A woman posted a story titled "Ken Hoffman is a Jerk" and she rips me a new one pretty good.

I've never met this woman. And if you're thinking I'm doing a Weiner copout, let me add that I've never talked to her or emailed her or even sent her a Christmas card with a naked photo of myself. I don't know how to get that story off Google. That "Ken Hoffman is a Jerk" story is not going to help me at my high school reunion.

Twitter is good for two things: telling people what you had for lunch and sending naked photos of yourself. Given a choice, did you put mustard or mayonnaise on your ham sandwich?

I am not on Twitter. But someone out there opened a Twitter account with my name and photo. The Twitter address is @KennethHoffy. I'm not sure if that's a Whopper or a Quarter Pounder I'm holding in the picture. The photo is from the back cover of the book I wrote in 1999. The book has become a valuable collector's item. I just checked amazon.com, and they have used copies for one penny.

KATU is reporting (06:29 PM)that the PPB shooter, a 15 year veteran, had lethal rounds in his "beanbag" shotgun, and fired a potentially lethal round at the shootee.

No wonder PPB has spent 7 hours playing at investigating. They had to figure out a way to explain how the supposedly "non lethal" beanbag shotgun was loaded with standard ammunition.

Miracle the ;latest victim of PPB bumbling is alive.
